Wigan were one goal down for almost the entirety of the second half after David Davis had scored the rebound after Clayton Donaldson's missed penalty.

But in the 90th minute, Craig Davies scored from close range to level the scores and deprive Birmingham of what would have been a smash-and-grab victory.

The assist was provided by William Grigg, who was as ever somewhat on fire.

Wigan completely dominated the match. They had 71% possession, 20 shots on goal (compared to Birmingham's six), and ten corners (compared to Birmingham's two).

Despite their dominance, Birmingham arguably had the more gilt-edged chances. One such chance led to Donaldson hitting the post after Adam Bogdan had saved Jacques Maghoma's shot.

Wigan fans took to Twitter after the game to express their pride in the team's never-say-die-attitude, although there was a latent sense that perhaps the Latics should have gained the full three points given their dominance.

The Latics pay a visit to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon for a clash with Nottingham Forest.

With Forest having endured a poor start to the season, losing two of their first three games, Wigan will be confident of at least gaining a point from the match.
