Aston Villa were linked over the weekend with making a move for Serie A ace Amadou Diawara.

Tuttosport report that Villa have offered big money for the teenage midfielder, a fee similar to the £14 million they spent on signing striker Ross McCormack.

Diawara's agent has responded to confirm the offer, but has given little away over his future plans.

Speaking to Sport Italia, reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Daniel Piraino admitted he has a chance to move to Aston Villa.

He said: "The offer of Aston Villa? It's true. But [for now] he tries to do everything for Bologna."

The youngster's professional approach shows he has no intention of going on strike to force a switch, and may well be undecided over whether he wants to move to England.

For both himself and Villa a switch is a gamble, as he is playing regularly and establishing himself at Bologna, also linked to top Premier League teams over the past year.

Villa would be investing a lot of money on an unproven talent, one with real potential, and while reports of a big money offer suggest a deal may not be far off, Diawara is not putting pen to paper just yet.
