Manchester United are on the verge of sealing a sensational deal for Gabriel Barbosa, report The Sun.

The Brazilian wonderkid 'nicknamed' Gabigol has interested clubs around Europe including reigning champions Leicester, but it is United who appear poised to win the race for his signature.

The Sun's report claims: "United have shot to the front of the pack after agreeing to pay Santos £26 million for the player - plus a £4 million commission fee to his agent."

The report adds that he is set on moving to Old Trafford, and United are set to push through a deal within the next 48 hours.

Gabigol is currently at the Olympics as part of Brazil's under-23 squad, where he is playing alongside Neymar, the player he has been compared to.

The wonderkid is just 19, and his potential move to United is truly fascinating, with rivals Manchester City snapping up fellow Brazil sensation Gabriel Jesus earlier this month.

The duo are the same age and both in Manchester they will be pitched directly in competition.

Barbosa would become United's fifth summer signing, following Eric Bailly, Henrikj Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Paul Pogba.
