According to The Sun, Leeds United chairman Massimo Cellino is keen to land a new centre back having been left disappointed with Sol Bamba's performances this season.

Despite a strong summer with the appointment of manager Garry Monk and some strong signings in Kyle Bartley, Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe, Leeds have made a disappointing start to the new Championship campaign.

A 3-0 thumping at the hands of QPR on the opening weekend of the season was the worst possible start for Monk, and Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Birmingham City wasn't much better either.

It's far too early to be discussing drastic changes at Elland Road, but The Sun report that chairman Massimo Cellino is eyeing up some tweaks to the club's squad.

The report claims that whilst Cellino is looking into the possibility of signing another goalkeeper – despite already having Robert Green, Marco Silvestri, Ross Turnbull and Bailey Peacock-Farrell at Elland Road – he's also keen to bring in another centre back.

It's stated that, having seen Sol Bamba struggle in the opening two Championship games of the season, Cellino wants to bring in a new defender to help solidify Monk's struggling back line.

Bamba, 31, is the club's captain but has struggled so far this term, with many Leeds fans suggesting that he needs to be dropped from the team for tonight's home clash with Fulham - and Cellino seemingly agrees with them.

Leeds have added the aforementioned Bartley this summer, and snapped up Luke Ayling from Bristol City last summer, but he may be more of a right back under Monk having been a versatile defender with the Robins.

Cellino may now try to use his contacts to try and bring in another centre half, whilst Monk may look to bring Liam Cooper in alongside Bartley in his defence tonight as Leeds look to pick up their first point of the season.

Do you think Leeds still need to sign another centre back before this month's transfer deadline?
