It was not a happy debut for him though as his side conceded three goals in total during an end-to-end game.
It was a defensive display that will not have pleased their manager and Klavan has admitted that there is room for improvement.
“For the spectators, it was an amazing game to watch but there were good moments and bad moments for us,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“Winning was special but as a centre-half, when your team concedes three goals it’s never too great a day. You can’t be too happy. There’s a lot of room for improvements.”

It now remains to be seen if improving the defence is something that Jurgen Klopp looks at doing moving forward.
The left back area needs particular improvement, with Alberto Moreno putting in another torrid performance to make people doubt him even further.
So far all indications have been that Klopp will not look for a replacement, although another display like the one at the Emirates may change his mind.
