Keita joined RB Leipzig from Austrian club FC Red Bull Salzburg in the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, the German club had to pay the Austrian outfit a transfer fee of £12 million in order to secure the services of the 21-year-old central midfielder.
The Guinea international has revealed that he spoke to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger before making his move to RB Leipzig.
Keita has also claimed that Premier League clubs Liverpool, City and Southampton wanted to sign him in the summer transfer window.
“All those clubs got in touch with me about a move,” Keita told The Sun regarding interest from Manchester City, Liverpool and Southampton.
“I didn’t speak with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp but I had a phone conversation with Arsene Wenger, who spoke French to me.
“Yet I chose Leipzig as they have great potential and I didn’t yet want to join a big Champions League club.
“Leipzig’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick has treated me like a son. He came to France in 2014 to sign me for Salzburg and I trust him entirely.”
Keita is a talented young midfielder, and his comments suggest that he is very mature.
The former FC Istres youngster is only 21 years of age and still needs to develop his game and learn, and it seems that he understands that.
If the youngster continues to work hard and improve, then it will not be long before he makes the move to one of the bigger clubs in the Premier League.
