Liverpool fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to discuss the prospect of signing Joe Hart from Manchester City before the end of the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, England international goalkeeper Hart looks set to leave City this summer.

The 29-year-old has lost his place in the Citizens’ starting lineup to Willy Caballero.

Hart did not feature for City in their opening Premier League game of the season against Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium at the weekend.

The former Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper was left on the substitutes’ bench again on Tuesday evening when Pep Guardiola’s side took on Steaua Bucharest away from home in Romania in the first leg of the Champions League playoff tie.

According to Sky Sports, City have all but agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Claudio Bravo from Barcelona.

It has been reported that Hart is going to assess his options that are open to him over the next couple of weeks.

Liverpool do not appear to be in need of a goalkeeper at the moment.

Simon Mignolet is the first-choice custodian for the Reds, while Loris Karius is expected to give him competition when he recovers from his injury and Alex Manninger is third in line.

However, Liverpool fans, at least some of them, have suggested on Twitter that the club should make a move for Hart this summer and make him the number one instead of the error-prone Mignolet.
