We decided to compare him with midfielder Ashley Westwood to see how they both fared in the Premier League last season.
And as it turns out, the Villa star enjoyed a better campaign as he came out on top in six of the eight areas that we looked at.
On a per game basis he won more tackles, posted more ball recoveries and also enjoyed a better overall passing accuracy than the Australian midfielder.

He also finished the season with more goals and more assists than Jedinak managed.
It wasn’t all bad news for the Palace man though, who won more interceptions defensive duels per game than Westwood did.
Nonetheless, a win for Westwood in that comparison, suggesting Villa’s new man has work to do to get into the current midfield.
