Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told the club’s official website that securing a win and a clean sheet would be the ideal situation from their clash with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

The Scottish champions taken on the Israeli side in their Champions League play off on Wednesday.

The first leg is at Celtic Park, which is admittedly not an ideal situation for Rodgers side, who would have likely preferred the second leg of the two-legged tie to be at home.

Nonetheless they will be keen to ensure they take a win into the second leg and Rodgers says an ideal situation would be a win alongside a clean sheet.

“We respect the opponent and I know it will be tough but hopefully it will be tough for them as well,” he told the club’s official website.

“The ideal scenario is you don’t concede a goal and you win the game, so that will be the idea coming into it. It can’t be won tomorrow night and that was the same in the other games as well.”

It will certainly be interesting to see if Celtic can secure the result they want against Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

The game is not likely to be an easy one to say the least and Celtic will know there is no such thing as an easy tie after their experiences in the tournament so far.

After a strong start to the season, they will be confident of securing the result they want though and Rodgers will be hoping it does turn out to be an ideal situation.
