“His general play was pretty good, he got himself into some good positions, but I think there’s still room for improvement there,” said Le Tissier about Barkley’s performance on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, August 13, 2016).

Barkley is a very talented and promising young attacking midfielder, and the 2016-17 campaign will be massive for him.

The England international needs to find consistency in his game and also needs to show that he can be a leader in Everton’s attack.

The Toffees will be aiming for a top-four six finish in the Premier League this season.

Everton will return to action next weekend when they take on West Bromwich Albion away from home at The Hawthorns in the Premier League.
