Wales' Ashley Williams after sustaining an injury
Former Manchester United and West Ham United defender Rio Ferdinand has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Arsenal should have signed Ashley Williams in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of the Reds at the Emirates Stadium in North London.
It was Arsenal’s opening Premier League game of the season, and the way Arsene Wenger’s side defended was quite alarming.

Wales international centre-back Williams recently moved from Swansea City to Premier League rivals Everton.

This is not the first time that Ferdinand has suggested that Arsenal should have moved for Williams.
Back in September of last year, the former England international centre-back made a similar suggestion on Twitter.
Just watchin the Wales boys. how Arsenal or Lfc haven't gone for Ashley Williams last few yrs is beyond me-better than what they have bought— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) September 6, 2015
