Tottenham Hotspur should be satisfied after coming through a tricky start to the season away to Everton with a draw.

Spurs lost their Premier League opener in 2015/16 and went onto have a superb campaign, so in one sense they are already off to a better start than the previous campaign.

There were positive signs that this Tottenham side can be even better, with goalscorer Erik Lamela looking superb, and new signing Vincent Janssen playing a prominent role off the bench.

Former Spurs star Micky Hazard gave a thumbs up to the side's display, and urged them to use it as a platform for the rest of the campaign.

Hazard was of the view that Spurs should have gone on to win the game, and they had chances to steal it, with Erik Lamela in particular coming close to netting a winner.

Tottenham's next game is a home fixture against to Crystal Palace, who lost their opener at home to West Bromwich Albion.

They then have a home game against Liverpool before the transfer window closes and there is a brief international break.
