Carroll has suffered with injuries during his time at West Ham so far, but he is now fully fit.
Keown has explained why the former Newcastle United and Liverpool striker has a point to prove for the Hammers during the 2016-17 campaign.
The former Arsenal star has also backed West Ham to have a successful 2016-17 season in the Premier League.
West Ham's Andy Carroll
“Andy Carroll needs to be available more often and show more consistency when he does get on the pitch,” Keown wrote in The Daily Mail regarding the West Ham player who has got a point to prove.
“He should be motivated on many fronts to become their main man up front — not least because he'll almost have a short cut back into the England squad while Sam Allardyce is the head coach.”
“I know they will want to kick on from last season but taking into account the stadium move and European games clogging up their fixture list, they'll be happy with the same again,” added Keown on how West Ham will fare in the Premier League this season.

Carroll is a good striker, and if he can remain injury free this season, then he will be an asset to West Ham.
The 27-year-old England international striker scored nine goals and created 20 chances in 27 Premier League matches for the Hammers last season.
During the 2014-15 campaign, the Englishman scored five goals and created 11 chances in 14 league games.
West Ham will kick off their 2016-17 Premier League campaign with a game against Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge in London on Monday evening.
