Former Everton star Kilbane was following the match, and he was impressed with the shift put in by the Spain international against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
“The one thing that has been questioned of Deulofeu is his work rate but that has not been the case today,” said Kilbane on BBC Radio 5 live on Saturday afternoon (16:26, August 13, 2016).
“His movement has caused Vertonghen and Alderweireld all sorts of problems but he may have just tired a little before his substitution.”
