Goals from Steven Caulker and Tjarron Chery late in the second half saw QPR win their second league game of the season and go top of the Championship

Having overcome Leeds 3-0 on the opening day of the season, Hasselbaink's side progressed to the 2nd Round of the EFL Cup after beating Swindon Town 4-2 on penalties (the game had ended 2-2 after 120 minutes of football).

The Rs put in a clinical performance, winning a somewhat even encounter through their only two shots on target.

After the game, Hasselbaink praised his side's defensive performance in an interview with the club website.

He said: "It was a really strong away performance. Defensively, it was flawless.

"Offensively, we could impose ourselves better at times and be even more dominant than we were, but overall I am very happy."

Delighted QPR fans took to Twitter to wax lyrical about their side's perfect start to the season.

There's a genuine feel-good vibe at the West London club right now and fans will certainly be hoping that the Rs can gain promotion back to the Premier League, from which they were last relegated in 2015.

Hasselbaink's men make the trip to Barnsley on Wednesday evening and will be confident of continuing the club's excellent run of form against a Barnsley side that have lost two of their three games so far this season.
