Bookmaking company BETVICTOR have slashed the odds on Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko moving to Everton, and made them joint favourites at 2/1.

Juventus are also listed at 2/1 in the race to sign the want-away Frenchman, while Real Madrid have drifted out to 4/1 with BETVICTOR.

Sissoko is not the most popular of figures on Tyneside at the moment, after he pleaded with Newcastle fans to understand his desire to leave the football club (BBC Sport).

A move away from St James' Park seems the most likely of outcomes, but where he ends up is anyone's guess.

Everton would certainly benefit from having a player with the physical prowess of Sissoko amongst their ranks, and his box-to-box style would inject much needed energy levels into Ronald Koeman's side.

Sissoko played in all but one of Newcastle's 38 Premier League games last term, chipping in with one goal and seven assists.

He gained many admirers after his impressive displays at Euro 2016 helped France reach the final of the tournament.

If Everton do decide to pursue the Frenchman, they must be prepared to pay a hefty price-tag after it was reported earlier on this summer that Newcastle value Sissoko at £35 million (ESPN).
