According to Gianluca di Marzio, Fiorentina have made a tentative £5 million offer for West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang.

The midfielder only joined the Hammers last summer as he arrived in an undisclosed deal from Sampdoria.

It proved to be a highly frustrating year at Upton Park for him though as he managed just 11 starts in an injury hit campaign.

He is likely to find first team football even harder to come by this season as Havard Nordtveit’s arrival from Borussia Monchengladbach means there is increased competition for places.

A move away has already been suggested, with Italian newspaper Tuttosport reporting last month that Cagliari were interested in his signature.

And now it appears Fiorentina are also considering a move for the midfielder this summer. According to Gianluca di Marzio, they have already made a tentative £5 million offer for his services.

As yet it is unknown whether the Hammers are willing to accept that offer, although much is likely to rest on the Europa League.

Should they progress from their qualifying clash with Astra Giurgiu, Bilic will likely to be keen to have as big a squad as possible at his disposal to deal with the extra games European football brings.
