According to The Sun, Crystal Palace are eyeing an £8 million deal for Nottingham Forest’s Oliver Burke.

The report claims that Palace are on the lookout for a new winger with Yannick Bolasie expected to join Everton this coming week, and Forest’s Burke as emerged as an ideal candidate.

Palace have strengthened their squad this summer with the arrivals of Andros Townsend and James Tomkins, but they will have a big void to fill should Bolasie opt to join Everton.

Burke is a Forest academy product who signed his first professional contract with the club in 2014.

The 19-year-old made his debut during the 2014-15 campaign and went on to make 18 championship appearances for the Reds last season, scoring two goals in the process.

This season he has started the campaign as a regular for the East Midlands side, scoring in the 4-3 win over Burton Albion before impressing during Forest’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday.

A two-capped Scotland international, Burke is a direct winger who possesses plenty of pace and power reminiscent of Wales international Gareth Bale during his early days at Tottenham Hotspur.

The winger is without doubt still in his early years and relatively raw, but he has plenty of potential and given time he has all the attributes needed to become a Premier League regular.
