The Eagles are interested in the West Ham striker if a move for the Liverpool forward fails.

According to Sky Sports, Crystal Palace are considering West Ham United striker Andy Carroll as an alternative to Christian Benteke.

The Eagles are desperate to add a striker to their squad before the end of the transfer window after their struggles finding a regular goalscorer last season.

Liverpool flop Christian Benteke appears to be top of their wish list but so far they have failed to agree a price with the Reds for the Belgian forward.

Should a move not materialise before the end of the transfer window, it appears that Alan Pardew has drawn up a list of alternative options to target.

And according to Sky Sports, West Ham’s Andy Carroll is on the list of players they are looking at.

The striker could face a fight for first team football next season after the Hammers added Jonathan Calleri and Andre Ayew to their squad this summer.

The striker appears to have finally overcome the injury issues that have plagued him in recent years, but has to stay fit to really show that this is not a false dawn.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers would be willing to sell him though, especially after spending so much time getting him back to full fitness.
