Michael Ball has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Everton’s failure to win against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.

Everton kicked off their 2016-17 Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Goodison Park.

The Merseyside outfit took the lead after just five minutes when Ross Barkley scored from a free kick.

Tottenham restored parity just before the hour mark through Argentina international attacker Erik Lamela.

Everton gave a good account of themselves against Tottenham and deserved the point.

The Toffees were the better team in the first half, and the performance of the players during that period should encourage manager Ronald Koeman and the fans.

The Merseyside outfit are aiming to finish in the top six of the Premier League during the 2016-17 campaign.

Everton will return to action next weekend when they take on West Bromwich Albion away from home at The Hawthorns in the Premier League.
