Robbie Savage has told BBC Radio 5 Live 606 that he would be tearing his hair out as an Arsenal fan watching Manchester United sign Paul Pogba.

United have been extremely busy this summer, adding to their squad with a series of big money signings.

The biggest of those has been the return of Pogba from Juventus, with Jose Mourinho making him the world’s most expensive player to bring him back to Old Trafford.

In contrast, Arsenal have only seen one major arrival at the club, with Granit Xhaka arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach.

It is fair to say that Gunners fans are not pleased by that situation, and Savage has said he would be tearing his hair out were he a fan.

“I’m led to believe that there is money to spend, so why on earth haven’t they gone for people to help them have a real go?” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live 606.

“United go and spend £89 million on Paul Pogba, and Arsenal fans must be thinking, ‘try and buy him’. When you’re spending £2 million on Holding [instead] for me as an Arsenal fan I’d be tearing my hair out.”

It now remains to be seen if Arsenal go on and secure a big name signing that their fans are crying out for.

A central defender looks likely to arrive at some point given their issues in that position at present, but a striker should also be top of their wish list.

They will have to pay big money to get one though, and it will be interesting to see if Wenger is willing to do so to try and turn the current air of negativity around.
