Mark Warburton’s Glasgow Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Joe Garner from Preston North End in the summer transfer window.

Rangers are closing in on the signing of Joe Garner from Preston North End, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been reported that Garner, who is rated at £1 million, is open to joining Scottish Premiership club Rangers in the summer transfer window.

According to the report, negotiations over a deal for the striker is likely to take place after the Gers’ Scottish Premiership game against Dundee on Saturday afternoon.

The Scottish Sun claims that the 28-year-old former Nottingham Forest and Watford striker could complete his move to Rangers early next week if everything goes well in negotiations.

Garner has been on the books of Preston since 2013 and has scored 57 goals for the club.

However, during the 2015-16 campaign, the striker was able to score just six goals and created only 39 chances in 40 Championship matches for the Lilywhites.

Preston will take on Fulham at Deepdale in the Championship on Saturday afternoon. Simon Grayson’s lost 1-0 to Reading away from home at the Madejski Stadium in the league last weekend.
