Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react to Leicester City’s opening day defeat at the hands of Hull City.

The Foxes kicked off the defence of their Premier League title with trip to the KCOM stadium in Saturday’s early fixture.

They were expected by most to be comfortable winners against the newly-promoted side, who are currently without a permanent manager and in turmoil heading into the new season.

It did not prove to be a happy afternoon for the Foxes though as goals from Abel Hernandez and Robert Snodgrass saw Hull to a 2-1 victory.

That made Claudio Ranieri’s side the first reigning champions to lose their opening game in 27 years, and Lineker’s reaction on Twitter summed it up perfectly, albeit with tongue firmly in cheek.

It now remains to be seen if Leicester City can bounce back from this opening day defeat and enjoy another impressive campaign.

While they may have been expected to win this game comfortably, there is no denying that a trip to a newly-promoted side on the opening day was not going to be easy and they will be keen to put this defeat behind them quickly.
