Garry Monk shares his opinion on Leeds support against Birmingham

Leeds United lost to Birmingham City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has told the club’s official Twitter page that the fans were fantastic on Saturday afternoon.

There were over 26,000 Leeds fans at Elland Road for the Championship game between the Whites and Birmingham City.

Leeds were expected to pick up all three points from the encounter, but the home team slumped to a 2-1 defeat.

Monk was disappointed with the way the Whites conceded the goals against Birmingham, but he was pleased with the support given by the fans.

Birmingham took the lead at Elland Road on 15 minutes through Jacques Maghoma.

Hadi Sacko equalised for the West Yorkshire outfit on 27 minutes, but Michael Morrison wrapped up the points for the visiting team 10 minutes into the second half.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, hosts Leeds had 60% of the possession, took 11 shots of which three were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.
