Osvaldo Ardiles has taken to social networking site Twitter to claim that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino will be happy that his side are not favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

Tottenham will kick off their 2016-17 Premier League campaign with a game against Everton away from home at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

The North London outfit finished third in the league table last season and will be expected to challenge for the Champions League places yet again this campaign.

Spurs will also be expected by many to compete for the league title with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Tottenham came close to winning the Premier League title last season, but they had to settle for third place.

Repeating last season’s heroics will be tough for Spurs, especially with United, City and Chelsea all expected to improve this campaign.

The initial objective for Tottenham this season should be to retain their place in the top four.
