Liverpool desperately need to strengthen the left-side of their defence, and should look to Real Madrid for a solution.
Liverpool have still not managed to address their issues at left-back this summer, and head into the new season with Alberto Moreno as the only recognised left-sided full-back at the club.
After Moreno endured a horrendous end to the 2015-16 campaign that culminated in his woeful display for the Reds in the Europa League final, Jurgen Klopp will surely be looking to add an experienced left-back before the transfer window closes.
A fantastic option for the Merseyside outfit would be Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao.
The Portuguese left-back is currently behind Marcelo in the Madrid pecking order, as he has been throughout the course of his career at the Bernabeu.
Fabio Coentrao during his loan spell with Monaco
The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Monaco, where he made 13 league starts.
In the four season's has played with Los Blancos, Coentrao has managed only 41 league starts, an incredibly meagre amount for a player of such class.
The former Benfica star would bring such quality and experience to the Liverpool side, and would likely be allowed to leave the Spanish giants, should Klopp decide to make a move.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to add another left-back to his squad
The Portuguese is very gifted technically, and is highly proficient at supporting his side's attacks with sharp bursts down the left-hand side of the pitch.
His experience of playing for a club like Madrid at such a high level could prove to be invaluable with so many impressionable youngsters at Anfield.
If a move came to fruition, Coentrao would certainly provide more than adequate competition for Moreno, and quite possibly supersede the Spaniard in the role of first-team starter.
