According to the Mirror, Aston Villa are ready to let Ashley Westwood leave the club this summer.

The Villans have already seen midfielders depart the club already in this transfer window as they rebuild their squad.

Idrissa Gueye has headed to Goodison Park to join Everton after they activated his release clause, while Carlos Sanchez has been allowed to join Fiorentina on loan.

They are not finished there though, with Roberto di Matteo and owner Tony Xia ready to step up their revamp following the humiliating 3-1 loss to Luton Town in the EFL cup on Wednesday.

And according to the Mirror, the next man on the chopping block is Ashley Westwood.

The newspaper reports the Villans are now ready to sell the midfielder, with Premier League side Burnley interested in his services.

They will not wait around to search for a replacement though, with Crystal Palace outcast Mile Jedinak already lined up.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew is open to bids and Di Matteo is now eyeing up a move, with the Italian thought to feel that Jedinak would be an idea signing as he looks to add a leader in midfield.
