Watford are monitoring Sunderland defender Younes Kaboul, according to France Football.

The Hornets are said to be looking to bolster their back-line this summer, and they have already brought in Belgian centre-half Christian Kabasele from Genk for just under £6 million.

And according to the French media outlet France Football, they have not yet finished their transfer dealings this summer, as they look to bring in further competition for the likes of Craig Cathcart and Miguel Britos.

Kaboul, who has three years remaining on his current deal at the Stadium of Light, may now find his first team opportunities becoming more limited with the arrival of Paddy McNair and Papy Djilobodji in recent times from Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.

New manager David Moyes clearly in the market for further defensive reinforcements, with Shane Duffy the latest central defender to be linked with a move to the North East, as outlined by the Sunderland Echo.

And it appears Watford may be ready to pounce on the former Tottenham Hotspur stalwart.

Kaboul, now 30, has plenty of Premier League experience to his name, courtesy of two spells at White Hart Lane in between two years spent at Portsmouth.
