Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted to the club’s official website that rotation of the playing squad is not on the agenda this season.

The Reds have been busy in the summer transfer window this summer, with seven new players arriving so far.

It has been a concerted effort to improve in several areas, with players arriving to improve the German’s options in a number of positions.

With no Europa League football to contend with this season, the Reds schedule is considerably less busy than last year and Klopp has insisted that rotation of the squad is not on the agenda.

“We need a situation where the players push themselves and each one pushes the other for each position,” he told the club’s official website.

“So it’s not that you have to change the team a lot between two Saturday games or two Sunday games – it’s nothing about rotation. It’s about: ‘OK, who is ready now? Who is ready to perform how we need in each specific game?’”

It will certainly be interesting to see what line up that Klopp goes with this season after his signings this summer.

As already mentioned, he now has several options in a number of positions, aside from left back, where they are still short on numbers.

That means the German has big decisions to make about who will be in his regular starting line up and it remains to be seen which big name could be left on the bench as a result.
