Jermaine Jenas has backed Liverpool to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United midfielder Jermaine Jenas has predicted on BBC Sport that Liverpool will finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

Jenas has backed Manchester City to win the league title during the 2016-17 campaign.

Tottenham and Chelsea will end up second and third respectively in the standings, claims the former England international.

The former Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers midfielder has backed Liverpool to finish fourth in the Premier League table.

“I went with them for my top four because I like what they have done in the transfer market so far and this is Jurgen Klopp's team now,” Jenas told BBC Sport regarding his prediction about Liverpool.

“This is his first full season after his first pre-season working with the players - and that makes a huge difference.”

Liverpool have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far. The Merseyside outfit have signed Joel Matip, Loris Karius, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan, Alex Manninger and Georginio Wijnaldum so far this summer.

The Reds will be looking to challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League table this season.

Klopp is one of the best managers in the world, and under the German, the Liverpool players will be determined to give their all this season.

Liverpool will kick off their 2016-17 Premier League campaign with an away game against Arsenal on Sunday evening.
