Former Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson has given his thoughts on recent controversial comments made by Celtic star Scott Brown in The Daily Record.

Celtic midfielder Brown recently described Heart of Midlothian winger Jamie Walker as a cheat, as quoted by BBC Sport.

The Scotland international made the comments about Walker following the Scottish Premiership game between Hearts and Celtic in Edinburgh last weekend which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Hoops.

Walker earned a penalty in the 36th minute of the encounter at the Tynecastle Stadium after going down under a challenge from Kieran Tierney.

Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson has shared his thoughts on the comments made by Brown in The Daily Record.

“Was he right to do so publicly?” Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record about Brown’s comments. “Probably not, but that doesn’t take into account the fact that Scott was interviewed right after the final whistle when emotions were still running high.

“He spoke from the heart and didn’t try to soft-soap the issue. We all want honesty, so there’s nothing wrong with that.”
