New West Ham United signing Andre Ayew has told the club’s official website that the players all told him great things about manager Slaven Bilic.

The striker made the move to the London Stadium this week after they paid Swansea City £20.5 million for his services, as announced on the Hammers' official website.

The move was unlikely to have been a difficult one for him to make, with West Ham very much an attractive option to prospective signings at this moment in time.

One such attraction is manager Slaven Bilic, who was impressive in his first season in the Premier League in 2015-16.

Ayew has revealed that when he asked the current Hammers squad about the Croatian, he received nothing but glowing reviews.

“I am really happy to be at West Ham. I had a discussion with the manager and he made me understand why he wanted me,” he told the club’s official website.

“I spoke to a few players already here who had great things to say about the manager. This club has a lot of ambition and I was to be a part of that.”

It will now be interesting to see if Ayew is the final striker to arrive at West Ham this summer.

He managed more goals than all of their forwards last season, so he is certainly an upgrade on what they currently have in the squad.

However, it is debatable whether he is the 20-goal striker that West Ham are in desperate need of to ensure they can compete for a top-six place or better.
