Watford have been handed a huge boost with the news that key striker Odion Ighalo has signed a new five-year contract at the club.
Ighalo's decision represents a huge coup for the Hornets in securing the services of the Nigerian, who proved to be a key factor in the clubs 13th-placed finish and FA Cup semi-final last term.
The forward scored 15 goals last campaign, contributing massively to Watford's success in staying in the Premier League after their return from the Championship.
He forged a formidable partnership with team-mate Troy Deeney, with the pair causing all kinds of problems with Ighalo's pace and trickery on the ball and Deeney possessing the physical yet intelligent attributes as he played off the former Udinese and Granada man.
Much speculation was milling round whether the club could hang onto the duo with Leicester City expressing their interesting in captain Deeney.
However, it's a massive boost for new manager Walter Mazzarri who can build a side knowing his two prized assets will be at Vicarage Road for the long run.
Reacting on Twitter, Watford fans hailed the club's success in keeping Ighalo at the club and the 27-year-old's decision to commit his future until 2021.
@SkySportsNewsHQ Good for Watford. If he can rediscover his form from early last season he will prove to be a nightmare for some defences— TheClowez (@AdamClowes11) August 11, 2016
@SkySportsNewsHQ Great news for Watford; seems to have a great attitude and has the potential to score goals for fun with the right service— Lucas (@Lucas_Monk10) August 11, 2016
