West Ham United’s hunt for a new striker might finally be complete, as the club finalised deals for Andre Ayew earlier in the week and now Jonathan Calleri.
But some Hammers fans will be disappointed – after being linked with the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Carlos Bacca and Mario Mandzukic this summer – feeling that perhaps their new additions are a bit low-key.
But one former West Ham player was very pleased with the signing of the Swansea City star.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ today (11/08/16) Sinclair, who played at West Ham for five years, had this to say about the signing of the Ghanaian international:
“The fans were hoping for someone a little bit bigger than that. A bigger name, maybe a more glamourous name.
“But for me he’s done really well last season, he’s a player that can score goals.”
Ayew, who arrived in a deal reported by The Guardian to be in the region of £20 million, offers West Ham options in both the wide and central positions.
The player, who is a good friend of West Ham star Dimitri Payet, had a brilliant campaign at Swansea last term after signing for the club on a free transfer from Marseille.
Ayew netted 12 goals in 35 appearances for Swansea last season and West Ham will be hoping he can score a considerable amount more during his time at the London Stadium.
