West Bromwich Albion have made their intent to sign a new striker clear this summer and are now seemingly looking at Algerian international Islam Slimani as a potential recruit.

The Daily Mail are reporting that West Brom have made an enquiry to Sporting Lisbon regarding the availability of the talented attacker.

However, the report claims that Sporting would want £25 million for any side to pluck their star asset away, a fee that would break West Brom’s transfer record.

O Jogo recently reported that he has a release clause of €30 million (£25.2 million) – a sizeable price-tag.

Portuguese source Record recently reported Slimani had informed his club Sporting that he would like to leave the club this summer.
