Reports in the Netherlands are suggesting that Leeds United winger Jordan Botaka is set to join Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan deal in the coming days.

The report from Fox Sports suggests that Botaka is set to move to The Valley in a bid to stay in contention for the Democratic Republic of Congo squad ahead of the African Cup of Nations next year.

His exit from Leeds would not come as a surprise.

He has struggled to find regular football since his switch to Elland Road from Excelsior Rotterdam last summer.

He has failed to be a part of Garry Monk’s plans so far this season and with that in mind it seems the fringe player would be a likely departure from the Leeds United camp.

Botaka, who has also recently been linked with a move to Oldham Athletic, has played just 10 league games for Leeds and is yet to score for the Yorkshire club.

The trickster will be tasked with helping Charlton win promotion back to the Championship after their relegation last season.
