Everton managed to bring in a more-than-capable replacement for the departed John Stones in the form of Ashley Williams recently, and the arrival of the former Swansea City star most certainly strengthens the Toffees’ backline.
Despite the acquisition of Williams, Everton are believed to be in the market to sign another defender as well, and it has recently been claimed that Bruno Martins Indi is a target for the Premier League outfit (A Bola).
Martins Indi is currently plying his trade for Porto but his future at Estádio do Dragão has been under a lot of scrutiny over the past few days after the Dutch international did not attend the club's team presentation last weekend.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman worked with Martins Indi during their time together at Feyenoord and a reunion at Goodison Park is seen as a real possibility.
Now in an apparent boost to Everton’s chances of completing the deal, Portuguese outlet Desporto have gone on to claim that Martins Indi rejected a lucrative offer to join Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev and add that the defender is desperate to join the Toffees.
At just 24, Martins Indi has already amassed over 200 professional appearances and he could well prove to be an astute signing for Everton.
