Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez in action with Leicester City's Ritchie De Laet
According to The Sun, Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of Leicester City defender Ritchie De Laet in a £2.5m deal.
Villa crashed out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening with an embarrassing 3-1 defeat away at League Two side Luton Town, and that came just days after they lost 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday to open their league campaign.

It has become abundantly clear in Villa's opening two games that manager Roberto Di Matteo still needs to bring in some more new signings, and he appears to be tackling his defence.
With that in mind, The Sun report that Villa are closing in on the signing of Leicester City defender Ritchie De Laet, with the right back set to cost Villa around £2.5m.

De Laet, 27, enjoyed an historic season as he won the Premier League title with Leicester, and won promotion with Middlesbrough having spent time on loan at the Riverside Stadium.
Now back at the King Power Stadium and clearly out of favour, the Belgian is set to leave Leicester, and Villa appears to be his destination with a £2.5m deal believed to be all but done.
A former Manchester United youngster, De Laet has also featured for the likes of Preston North End, Portsmouth and Norwich, and could be a smart, dependable signing for Villa.

Primarily a right-back, De Laet can also play at centre-back, and should bring some stability to a Villa defence that looked all at sea against Luton Town on Wednesday.
The report adds that Villa are closing in on two more deals, with West Brom's James Chester and Aston Villa's Mile Jedinak also allegedly nearing moves to Villa Park.
