Leeds United have signed a new defender this week.
Leeds United added yet another player to their ranks this week in the form of 24-year-old defender Luke Ayling.
The right-back signed a three-year contract after completing the switch from Bristol City and he will predominantly challenge Gaetano Berardi and Lewie Coyle for a starting spot.
That said, Ayling can also play at centre-back and it would be no surprise to see him feature there at various points throughout the new season.
Ayling came through the ranks at Arsenal, meaning he will know fellow Gunners youth product and new Leeds player Kyle Bartley well.
He never featured for the Arsenal first-team but he has 184 appearances for Yeovil Town under his belt as well as 95 games for Bristol City.
Ayling joins Bartley, Marcus Antonsson, Kemar Roofe, Matt Grimes, Hadi Sacko and Rob Green at Elland Road this summer.
Following the news of his arrival we took to Twitter to see what Leeds fans thought and you can read a selection of what we found below:
If Ayling can play CB he's exactly the type of player we need. #LUFC— LukeLufc (@lwhiteleyl) August 11, 2016
Long story short, you'd never pick Ayling over Byram but it's not a disgraceful acquisition either. Knows Bartley from Arsenal too. #lufc— Tommy D (@tommy_lufc) August 11, 2016
Seen Ayling play a couple of times and been impressed, not sure where it leaves Berardi though #lufc— Jack Dickinson (@jackdickinson10) August 11, 2016
Either Ayling comes in as 3rd choice RB or monk doesn't rate Lewie Coyle, either way doesn't look great for the kid#lufc— Sean Field (@field_sean) August 11, 2016
From what I gather Ayling is a good player. Bristol fans seem discontent to see him leave and say he's good in the ball #lufc— Lucas Gibson (Gibbo) (@LucasG1998) August 11, 2016
Glad we've signed ayling coyle been caught out twice ball watching in two games #lufc— jamie (@jamiepartridge3) August 11, 2016
