It looked as though the deal to bring Georges-Kevin N’Koudou from Marseille to Tottenham Hotspur is dead.

It was reported that negotiations to sign the player had collapsed, along with the potential exit of Clinton N’Jie in the other direction.

However, reports this morning suggest a move could still potentially happen.

L’Equipe are reporting, that Spurs and Marseille continue in talks for the French under-21 international – with a new proposal on the table.

They claim Spurs are now happy to sign the player on loan with a €13 million (£11.2 million) buy-out clause included in the deal.

There was no mention over a resurrection in N’Jie’s proposed move to Marseille - just a suggestion his future is unclear.

Yesterday, Le Phoceen reported why a deal had collapsed.

They reported that N’Koudou did not train with Marseille throughout neogtiations – in fact he is in a London hotel. The report claims that Levy, concerned over his match fitness and considering N’Jie was heading the other way, sought to change the deal.

The claim is that by the time the plug was pulled on negotiations Tottenham’s offer stood at just €5 million (£4.3 million) - a decrease of £6.8m on their initial bid, whilst N’Jie’s buying option had been raised to €13 million (£11.2 million).

This new report suggests N’Koudou remains in London as Spurs attempt to find common ground with Marseille over the deal.
