Jose Mourinho has made a sublime start as new Manchester United boss, returning the feel good factor among the fans.
He has already landed a piece of silverware at the first time of asking after beating Leicester City in the Community Shield at Wembley last Sunday.
Mourinho has also made a huge statement with big buys in the transfer market. Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba have all been secured before his side’s Premier League opener at Bournemouth this Sunday.
Cole told United’s official website in a Q&A: "I have been impressed (with United's four signings). You have got to be.
"Some of the signings over the last few years…I don't know if it was a numbers thing, to get bodies in at a certain time. But Mourinho has come in and specified the four players he wanted and the club has got them all.
"That reminds me of my time with Sir Alex Ferguson. He identified a player and, nine times out of 10, got the player.”
Playing under Mourinho has always been a huge factor in players' decisions to join the clubs the Portuguese managed.
Now at one of the biggest teams in the world, he holds an extra incentive which Ferguson always possessed when trying to lure a player to Old Trafford.
Even without Champions League football, playing at United under Mourinho has been enough for some of the biggest talents to join.
There does not need to be any football played to know that United are on their way back to the top.
