Italian side Torino are keen on signing Celtic centre-back Jozo Simunovic, report Tuttomercatoweb.

Referencing a report in newspaper Tuttosport it is claimed Torino's sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is weighing up making a move for the 22-year-old.

The report claims Torino have sent scouts to observe Simunovic at Celtic in the past, and are considering their options.

Simunovic has a contract at Celtic until 2020 and the club are under no pressure to sell a player who is currently out injured, and was not part of the squad for last night's match against Motherwell.

The Croatian signed for Celtic only last September from Dinamo Zagreb, but has been unable to really get going due to fitness issues.

If Celtic do decide to cash in, then Torino could well be a solution, yet the centre-back is a player with real potential who is yet to show his best for the club, and they would be wise to resist offers and hope he comes good in a position which has been a problem for them over the past year at times.
