Arsenal are ready to let highly-rated young goalkeeper Matt Macey go out on loan before the close of the transfer window, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Macey, who joined Arsenal from Bristol Rovers in 2013 after they beat off interest from Everton, is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at the Emirates Stadium.

The 21-year-old has yet to make his first-team debut for Arsenal, but he has been named on the bench for a number of games by Arsene Wenger.

Macey has been a regular for Arsenal's Under-21s during the last two seasons and he is seen as becoming Arsenal's No.1 keeper in the future.

The 6ft 6ins stopper had a spell out on loan at Accrington Stanley in January 2015 and he made four appearances for the League Two side in the first professional action of his career.

Arsenal's coaching staff feel Macey would benefit from going out on loan again this season to get some valuable first-team experience under his belt to continue his rapid development.

A number of League One and League Two clubs are understood to have made enquiries for Macey and Arsenal are now weighing up the options to see what will be the best club for the keeper to play at.
