The midfielder signed a new three-year deal with the Scottish champions on Wednesday.
The midfielder signed a new contract with the Scottish champions on Wednesday, committing himself to the club until 2019.
It extends his life-long association with the Scottish giants, who he has played for as man and boy, racking up 193 appearances since breaking into the first-team back in 2010.
He continues to star in the first-team under Brendan Rodgers, scoring against Hearts last weekend, and says he wants to now kick on and play as many games as he can for them.
“I feel that I’ve got a bit of experience now and I juts want to kick on and play as many as I can for this club,” he told the club’ official website.
“I’ve been here since I was nice. It’s all I know and it’s a massive club –one of the biggest in the world – so I’m just delighted to sign here again.”
It now remains to be seen what role Forrest has to play under Rodgers in the near future.
With Patrick Roberts continuing to shine on one wing and Scott Sinclair arriving from Aston Villa, competition is now fierce to secure a place in Rodgers’ starting line-up.
Forrest has already had to resign himself to a place on the bench, but if he continues to make an impact like he did last weekend, that may not continue for too long.
