Leeds United goalkeeper Rob Green has told The Sun (print edition, page 65, Sunday, August 7, 2016) that Manchester City star Joe Hart will bounce back.

Hart is the first-choice goalkeeper for City and for the England national team at the moment.

However, the 29-year-old’s place in the Citizens’ and in the Three Lions’ teams has been called into question.

The former Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper was not exactly in great form for City last season.

Hart did not have a great 2016 European Championship campaign for England in France in the summer.

England lost 2-1 to Iceland in the last 16 of Euro 2016 at the Allianz Riviera, with the goalkeeper responsible for the opposition’s second goal as he let Kolbeinn Sigthorsson's shot through his hand (click here to read more).

Green, who has earned 12 England caps and joined Leeds in the summer transfer window after leaving Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season, has backed Hart to bounce back.

“He is a fantastic goalkeeper and, like everybody else, is entitled a bad game or to make a mistake,” Green told The Sun (print edition, page 65, Sunday, August 7, 2016) about Hart.

“When it happens in a big defeat where you get knocked out, it magnifies it. He’s a big character and a genuine lad who will bounce back.

“It just bores me when people start talking about dropping him. Buffon says Joe is one of the best in the world. That’s enough for me.”

Leeds kicked off their 2016-17 Championship campaign with a 3-0 defeat to QPR away from home at Loftus Road in London on Sunday afternoon.

City will start their 2016-17 Premier League campaign with a match against Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.
