According to the Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans is keen on a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners are in the midst of a defensive crisis heading into the new Premier League season, with all of their senior centre backs currently out.

Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista have both picked up injuries in pre-season, while Laurent Koscielny has only just returned from an extended break following Euro 2016.

The Gunners are now expected to sign a new central defender before the weekend, with the Daily Mail reporting that they have already scouted Evans ahead of a potential move.

And according to the Telegraph, he is keen on the idea of a move although his club are seeking a big price for his services.

The newspaper reports that the Baggies are insistent that it will take more than the £15 million Arsenal believe would secure his signature.

It now remains to be seen if Arsene Wenger is willing to pay the money to sign him with the current injury crisis threatening to curtail their season before it has even begun.
