Christian Benteke celebrates scoring the first goal for Liverpool
According to The Telegraph, Crystal Palace have re-opened talks with Liverpool over a deal for Christian Benteke - and Alan Pardew's men are hoping to sign the player this week.
The Eagles have splashed the cash already this summer by snapping up goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, defender James Tomkins and winger Andros Townsend, but Pardew still needs to find a new striker.

Connor Wickham scored just six goals last season following a big move from Sunderland, and with Dwight Gayle sold on to Newcastle United, Palace must find a goalscorer before this month's transfer deadline.
A target who has been linked throughout the summer is Christian Benteke, and The Telegraph report that talks have been re-opened over a deal - and negotiations have been described as 'productive'.
Liverpool's Christian Benteke looks dejected
Benteke, 25, joined Liverpool last summer when the Reds activated his £32.5m release clause with Aston Villa, having hit 49 goals in 101 games for Villa.
However, the Belgian international struggled at Anfield, scoring just ten goals in 42 games for the Reds as he failed to find a role under Brendan Rodgers and then fell out of favour under Jurgen Klopp.

Now fifth choice striker at Anfield, Benteke appears to be heading for the exit door, and Palace are hopeful of sealing a deal for the giant striker by the end of the week after holding productive talks with Liverpool.
Liverpool rejected £25m from Palace for Benteke last month as they look to recoup most of the £32.5m they paid a year ago, and with the player seemingly made aware that he has little chance of playing under Klopp, a move to Selhurst Park could finally be drawing closer.
