Newcastle United's deal for Everton defender Brendan Galloway is gathering pace, with the Chronicle reporting that the 20-year-old is set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms imminently.

The report claims that the deal will be a loan move with the option of making the transfer permanent as Rafael Benitez looks to add further depth to his defensive options.

The Liverpool Echo claims that the deal could be finalised before the end of Tuesday.

The Dutch edition of Goal.com has claimed that PSV Eindhoven want to end Siem de Jong's Newcastle nightmare by bringing him back to the Eredivisie.

Persistent injury problems have limited De Jong to just 26 appearances in two seasons for the Magpies, and the report claims the PSV are now looking to team him up with his brother - and former Tyneside loan flop - Luuk.

However, the Dutch club would want a loan deal with an option to buy rather than a immediate permanent move, due to concerns over the 27-year-old's fitness.

The Northern Echo are reporting that Italian champions Juventus are looking at a shock move for Tim Krul to add a stable deputy to their goalkeeping options.

The paper suggests that Juve see Krul as a potential successor to veteran stopper Gianluigi Buffon, and that they could get their man for as little as under £4 million with the Dutchman out of favour and with just a single year left on his contract.

Krul was linked to fellow Italian giants AC Milan earlier this year.

Finally, Adam Armstrong has told the Chronicle that he wants to emulate Andy Carroll by grabbing any chance he is given in the Magpies first team this season.

The young striker has been linked with a loan move away to clubs such as Rangers (Scottish Sun) but is hoping to become a part of the furniture at St. James' Park this term.
