The Tottenham Hotspur teenager has a bright future in the game.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm has been speaking to the club’s website about the progress of teenage centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The young American is highly rated at White Hart Lane and he has been given the chance to shine this summer against some top opponents.
He has not let himself down and on this evidence the 18-year-old looks set to make his competitive debut sooner rather than later.
Speaking to tottenhamhotspur.com about his young teammate, Vorm said, “I think that Cameron has learned a lot this pre-season. He’s played a lot of games and I think he is getting better and better in his role.
“I also believe it is quite easy for him to play with someone like Toby (Alderweireld) next to him, like he did against Inter.”
Tottenham’s pre-season preparations are now complete and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking ahead to their Premier League opener against Everton on Saturday.
Despite losing narrowly to Juventus and Atletico Madrid during the build up to the new campaign, Spurs’ 6-1 victory against Inter Milan suggested the players are rediscovering their form and fitness at just the right time.
Carter-Vickers has been chief among the standout performers, especially when you consider his age, and the USA under-23 international will be hoping for a chance or two in the coming months.
