Everton's Romelu Lukaku
Former Arsenal and West Ham United striker John Hartson suggested on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (broadcast from 6, August 8, 2016) that Everton should sell Romelu Lukaku if he wants to leave this summer.
Lukaku has been linked with a move away from Everton in the summer transfer window.
According to a recent report in The Express, the Belgium international striker wants to return to Chelsea.
It has been reported that Everton are determined to keep hold of the 23-year-old, and that Chelsea are willing to wait until transfer deadline day in order to secure the striker’s services.
Former Arsenal and West Ham striker John Hartson has suggested that if Lukaku wants to leave, then Everton should let him go.
“If he wants to go, if Lukaku has made his mind up that he has done all he can for Everton, why would Everton and Koeman want to keep an unhappy player?” said Hartson on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (broadcast from 6, August 8, 2016).
Lukaku scored 18 goals and created 51 chances in 37 Premier League appearances for Everton during the 2015-16 campaign.
According to The London Evening Standard, Chelsea are willing to offer Everton £60 million and Loic Remy for Lukaku.
Everton will kick off their 2016-17 Premier League campaign with a home match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
